Bovey Tracey’s award-winning Contemporary Craft Festival returns, celebrating 15 years of making

8 - 10 June 2018

Event

Chair by Ambrose Vevers

Regularly attracting 10,000 visitors, and 200 of the UK's finest designer makers, this year's Festival, from 8–10 June, is introducing some new activities to its packed programme.

Organisers asked Year 12 students from the Atrium Studio & South Dartmoor Community College to develop a new area especially for teens at the Festival. The Den was created by the students as a place to hang out, play table tennis and experience workshops, including screen printing with South Dartmoor Community College (SDCC), digital design with Fab Lab Plymouth and jewellery by former SDCC student, Merryn Albon. This space is to encourage young adults to continue learning through design and craft, and, from this year, accompanied under-18s are free to enter the Festival.

The Contemporary Craft Festival offers a range of demonstrations including – brand new for 2018 – one from the Boat Building Academy from Dorset. The boys from Otter Surfboards will also be on the Festival's line-up, demonstrating how to shape a board.

The popular Pottery Throwdown returns, along with the Craft Cinema, Children's Craft Tent and numerous demonstrations.

Open Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10–5pm. Tickets: Adult £9 per day (concessions £8), Weekend 3-Day Ticket: £17 (£15 concessions), accompanied children (under 18) free.

Enter our competition to be in with a chance of winning one of four pairs of weekend tickets to the Festival
