The simplicity and quality of this thrown, hand-painted porcelain bowl by maker Philippa de Burlet, based in Chagford, is exceptional.
Philippa uses porcelain to make all her work; it can be thrown very thinly but is a durable material, which will last forever. Mostly her work is functional – bowls, cups, dishes, vases, candlesticks and jugs – and everything is made to be used.
These bowls come in various sizes, including small, approximately 15cm wide, £25 each; medium, 20cm wide, £40 each; large 25-30cm, from £90-£130 each.
