Little Sigford Farm exterior

A Bijou Barn

Over Lemon River, on the edge of Dartmoor, is the perfect getaway for a couple

21 September 2020

This property sits within Little Sigford Farm, an old working farm three miles from Ashburton. Once a millhouse, this bijou stone barn has been transformed into a self-catering retreat for two.

Having grown up on the farm and after his father passed away in 2016, Peter Prior bought the old mill buildings, along with some adjoining land. He thought the buildings would be perfect to convert, as his father, who owned the farm before him, had always dreamed of buying the extra land.

A local conservation architect was given a brief to capture the industrial history and former agricultural uses, while injecting it with a modern touch. Privacy and luxury were key components of the build with local materials being used.
