Built on the site of a 6th-century chantry, Castle on the Well is a self-catering home with over an acre of gardens, sitting in the North Devon countryside
28 February 2021
This traditional, handsome shooting lodge is located on the edge of Exmoor in South Molton. The property was once the site of a chapel said to have been built by St Petroc, and is now a self-catering holiday home that has been lovingly and luxuriously restored.
With a homely, yet design-led edge, the interior has both large, airy spaces and quiet corners with soothing greys and earthy tones throughout.
On the first floor, there are three double bedrooms and a family bathroom with bath and shower. The master has a super king-size bed, while the second bedroom has a king-size bed and the third room has a super king-size zip-and-link bed. On the ground floor, there is an additional shower room with WC.
The kitchen includes a Rangemaster cooker with hob, a dishwasher, coffee machine, fridge, freezer and washer-dryer.
Outside the wildlife pond in the open garden and surrounding farmland provide a real escape to nature.
