Having worked in social and health care, and with family members in wheelchairs, Rosemary understood the need for appropriate accommodation in the holiday lettings market, so designed and built her dream holiday home with these criteria in mind. The result is a high-spec, peaceful retreat, located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Maggs family has been living self-sufficiently since the 1960s, and has an abundant kitchen garden, orchards and honey bees, from the produce of which conserves and scones are made for guests. Being an ecologically conscious family, the property is solar powered, with a spring water source pumped via a hydraulic ram on site, along with a state-of-the art filtration system. The Retreat has underfloor heating, generated by a heat-exchange system.
