Welcombe Barn

A Welcombe Conversion

A poorly converted barn in Welcombe has been given a new look, making the most if its sea view

19 December 2016

Trewin Design Architects in Holsworthy undertook the challenge of restoring and enhancing a barn conversion in Welcombe that had been badly converted about 30 years ago.

It originally had a separate annexe, with the living accommodation split over two levels, which gave it a disjointed layout.

Trewin Design reconfigured the internal layout by situating the bedrooms on the lower level, which now has garden access, along with creating a large, open-plan living space on the first floor that opens onto a south-facing balcony. This gives an increased view of the sea and the house is now linked to the surrounding landscape.
